1963 - Please Please Me (The Beatles)

Please Please Me

1963 will go down in history as the year of The Beatles, surely the biggest musical phenomenon the world has ever seen, or is ever to likely to see.

"Please Please Me", written by John Lennon & Paul McCartney, is the Beatles first #1 UK hit, following the success of their first single "Love Me Do", which reached only #17 on the chart.

"Please Please Me" (the song) only stayed at the top spot for 1 week in March 1963 but the "Please Please Me" (the band's first studio) album stayed at the top album chart, beginning from May 1963, for a record 29 weeks then.

John Lennon: rhythm guitar, harmonica and lead vocal
Paul McCartney: bass guitar and harmony vocal

Ringo Starr: drums

Lyrics:

Last night I said these words to my girl
I know you never even try girl
Come on, come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on. come on
Please please me. oh yeah like I please you

You don't need me to show the way love
Why do I always have to say love?
Come on, come on. come on. come on
Come on, come on, come on. come on
Please please me, oh yeah like I please you

I don't want to sound complaining
But you know there's always rain in my heart
I do all the pleasin' with you
It's so hard to reason with you
Oh yeah why do you make me blue

Last night I said these words to my girl
I know you never even try girl
Come on, come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on. come on
Please please me. oh yeah like I please you
Oh yeah like I please you
Oh yeah like I please you
