1963 - I Will Follow Him (Little Peggy March)

I Will Follow Him

"I Will Follow Him" is a song recorded by Little Peggy March in 1963 when she was only 15. The song topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for 3 weeks (April - May 1963) making the youngest female artiste to have a chart topper then.

The music was written by Frank Pourcel (using the pseudonym J.W. Stole) and Paul Mauriat (using the pseudonym Del Roma). It was adapted by Arthur Altman. The English lyrics were written by Norman Gimbel. The song is a translation of the French language tune "Chariot" recorded a year earlier by Petula Clark, which hit #1 in France.

Lyrics:

Love him, I love him, I love him
And where he goes I'll follow, I'll follow, I'll follow

I will follow him, follow him wherever he may go
There isn't an ocean too deep
A mountain so high it can keep me away

I must follow him, ever since he touched my hand I knew
That near him I always must be.
And nothing can keep him from me
He is my destiny.

I love him, I love him, I love him
And where he goes I'll follow, I'll follow, I'll follow
He'll always be my true love, my true love, my true love
From now until forever, forever, forever.

I will follow him, follow him wherever he may go
There isn't an ocean too deep.
A mountain so high it can keep, keep me away
Away from my love.

I love him, I love him, I love him
And where he goes I'll follow, I'll follow, I'll follow
He'll always be my true love, my true love, my true love
From now until forever, forever, forever

I will follow him, follow him wherever he may go
There isn't an ocean too deep
A mountain so high it can keep, keep me away
Away from my love...

Do-do do-do-do do-do-do and where he goes
I'll follow, I'll follow, I'll follow
I know I'll always love him
