I Remember You
"I Remember You" is a popular song, written by Victor Schertzinger (music) and Johnny Mercer (lyrics). The song was published in 1941.
Australian singer Frank Ifield recorded the song in a yodeling country-music style in May 1962, and his version went to #1 on the UK Singles Chart for 8 weeks (July - September), #1 on the U.S. "Easy Listening chart" (which would later be re-named the Adult Contemporary chart), and #5 on the U.S. pop chart.
American country singer Slim Whitman, known for his yodeling, later recorded the song in very similar fashion. Other noteworthy artistes who covered the songs are Bobby Vinton, Bette Midler, Diana Krall and Ella Fitzgerald.
Lyrics:
I remember you-oo
You're the one who made
My dreams come true a few kisses ago
I remember you-oo
You're the one who said
"I love you too, yes I do didn't you know?"
I remember too a distant bell
And stars that fell
Like rain out of the blue
When my life is through
And the angels ask me to recall
The thrill of them all
Then I shall tell them I remember you
And I remember too a distant bell
And stars that fell
Like rain out of the blue
When my life is through
And the angels ask me to recall
The thrill of them all
Then i will tell them I remember
Tell them I remember you
