1963 - DOMINIQUE (The Singing Nun)

DOMINIQUE

"Dominique" is a popular song in French by Soeur Sourire (Sister Smile)of Belgium, also known as The Singing Nun.

The song reached and stayed at #1 on both the U.S. pop chart and "easy listening chart" (since renamed the Adult Contemporary chart) for four weeks in December of 1963. (It was the second foreign language song to hit #1 on the Hot 100 in 1963, the other being "Sukiyaki" by Kyu Sakamoto.)

    Just came across your blog and find it interesting. The song Dominique was well on the charts a long time ago and its still a very nice song. Keep up the good work.
